Alexis, I've been using the SMT Plus landpattern "approach" for about 4 years now, with EXTREMELY good success. But, I haven't used their library product. I have evaluated the library, and it's a toss up if you want to buy it and modify it to "your standards" or just modify your library to their patterns. I didn't really like the "sample" library I saw, because it's TOO basic (needs personal attention to details, i.e. silkscreen, assembly drafting techniques, package boundry), BUT I personally love the idea of having library support 24 hours! They have turned many landpatterns for me within 4 hours! I also don't like their on-line landpattern catalog, WITHOUT THE hardcopy. I have used the hardcopy since it's existance, and I just have to pull it off the shelf and show it to anyone questioning the pattern, rather than searching the on-line catalog (personal preference only.). But you can't go wrong! Seems a little pricey maybe, but then how much do you spend to turn a board with a bad landpattern? It costs you a heck of alot more! ;) If you want a good, detailed, up-to-date library system it's a great place to start. Get my 4 STAR vote.
