Jan, I can't answer you for the first question. For the second question, (even though I don't have the same wavesoldering machine as you have) it is obvious to me that the solder pot needs some serious maintenance and good cleaning. When a heavy layer of dross gets build-up in the pot, the pump action of motor pulls down bits of dross under molten solder and pumps up thru wave nozzles. Crusty layers of dross build up on solder pot steel walls, and restrict or block solder flow. The pumping mechanical action grinds dross into fine powder and push them thru the wave. The first thing I suggest to do is remove and clean the pumping mechanism. If it still causes dross thru the wave, remove solder as much as you. And remove plates and nozzles and give good scrubbings to remove crusty layers of dross from metal surfaces. re.
