HI Brian. We have had the same considerations. In our case, we only had a few (10-15) small coated test speciments to cure. Not a production load ! So you better have that in mind if trying our "method". What worked for us, was using a rather simpel oven, with a "cup of water" placed inside before and during the curing. We placed it inside for about 1 hour before the speciments, to get the oven air-space "filled" with water. The results where pretty good, in terms of complete cure and cure speed. Later we have found out, that cure speed aint an importent parameter for us. So now a dayes, we dont use the water !! While researching this application we have found that the moisture cure is needed for some silicon coatings to activate or accelerate the cure. What I am wondering is how much need their is in this market for such a system. I don't think any other oven manufacturers offer such a system so I am wondering what other people in the industry are currently doing to meet this RH Requirement? Are they using a normal oven and modifying it somehow to meet these needs or ??? If you are currently using a moisture cure conformal coating or are a manufacturer of conformal coatings I would love your imput.
