why are you cleaning rosin residue by hand?? 1) Hand cleaning usually spreads activator all over the panel, but removes visible rosin so that the activator is no longer encapsulated (for all but the "best" operators). This is worse than not cleaning at all. 2) Good touch up practices leave little rosin residue, and RMA can be left on. At a previous employer, we left it on high impedance/high voltage panels with no problem. 3) How do you know that you got all the activator off. I would spend my effort eliminating either the rosin residue or the cleaning My 2 cents worth ------------- Original Text From: C=US/A=INTERNET/DDA=ID/TechNet(a)IPC.ORG, on 2/23/98 1:09 PM: Has anyone found a cleaning solution for hand cleaning (bench top) operations which is nonflammable, pleasantly smelling, quick drying and adequately cleans rosin flux residue? If so, please send me information on this miracle solvent.
