Technet RE: BeCu Flex Dave, I believe you are requesting information on berylium copper (BeCu), which is used in flex circuit applications requiring a well-retained form or "set". In such applications, the flex is tooled to be formed once and does not significantly "relax" like the more ductile rolled annealed copper. Half-hard BeCu is well suited to applications such as flex "cross-overs" and bar soldered header connectors with flex. Due to its increased electrical resistance, BeCu has only about 20% of the current carrying capacity of rolled annealed copper and must be derated from standard copper. I'm interested in processing issues both for the circuit manufacturer and the board fabricator. Also of interest are the properties of this material and the reasons one would choose it. Any information at all will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Dave Tyler ############################################################## TechNet Mail List provided as a free service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8c ############################################################## To subscribe/unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the body: To subscribe: SUBSCRIBE TECHNET <your full name> To unsubscribe: SIGNOFF TECHNET ############################################################## Please visit IPC web site (http://www.ipc.org/html/forum.htm) for additional information.
