Maybe "a fuse is a fuse is a fuse," but but a "resettable fuse" is just a marketing term for a resistive PTC device. Thus I prefer the symbol used by Raychem for their PolySwitch brand, a resistor with a PTC characteristic curve through it (similar to what Doug suggested): __ / / ___/\ // /\ ___ \// \/ \/ / __/ Dan Stege Erie Controls, Milwaukee <[log in to unmask]> >>> Gary Shoemaker <[log in to unmask]> 11/19/97 08:21am >>> Does anyone know what the proper schematic symbol is for a resettable fuse? Would it be the same as a circuit breaker? ############################################################## IPC Designers Council Mail List provided as a free service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8c ############################################################## To subscribe/unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the body: To subscribe: SUBSCRIBE DESIGNERCOUNCIL <your full name> To unsubscribe: SIGNOFF DESIGNERCOUNCIL ############################################################## Please visit IPC web site (http://www.ipc.org/html/forum.htm) for additional information.
