If you are using turkey bags, the longer you can hold under vacuum before pressing, the better. Turkey bags tend to seal tightly around the lamination book, making it difficult to evacuate all the moisture within the package. I typically recommend 45 minutes for turkey bags, out of the press, if you can. Vacuum assist presses, on the other hand, are much more effective than turkey bags. The press chamber seals tightly, but leaves open areas around the lamination book. This allows moisture to boil out of the package quickly. Typically, 10 to 15 minutes hold in a vacuum press is sufficient.
