Many solder suppliers also offer temporary solder mask. The problems you can
expect from some of these masks are:
     - Adhesion problem at high temperature
     - Compatibility with the wave flux you use
     - Printability issues (if screen print)
     - Residue left on pads after removal
     - Compatibility with your wash equipment (if water soluble)
     - Cure time
     - Fracture druing thermal cycle (Thickness dependent)

Internet is a very good sources to start your search.

Hope this helps,
Michael Yuen

We are currently testing and looking at a latex peelable, a water-soluble,
a UV peelable, and a UV water-soluble.

I was wondering what type of temporary spot solder mask was out there and
what type are companies using and why?

I would also like to know if there were any problem that occured with the
spot mask during the wave or cleaning process ?

Thank you,

Benjamin Lee
