Hi Technet - A good reference on the problems that gold/silver/copper can create is "Connector Reliability in the Military Environment", S. Koford, Connector Technology, May 1989. The article also has a nice list of additional references. The diffusion of silver and/or copper into the gold causes a number a problems that you need to evaluate for your application and use environment. Good Luck.
