Martin -

At TRW Automotive, we subscribe to a service called Teltech out
of Minneapolis. If you are looking for information on a certain
subject, they can do a literature search and send, or download,
abstracts of the documents to you. Then you can decide which
papers you want to have in full. Rather than purchase all the
proceedings from all the conferences, this is a little easier. This is
an interactive search, so you can work with a specialist to find the
types of papers you really are looking for. I have found it very
helpful in researching several subjects. [I have, however, found it
more useful to find cutting edge information on the Internet and
Technet, in particular. A lot of the information from conference
proceedings can be a year old by the time they come out.]

Teltech also provides an expert network service. If you are
looking for answers to technical questions, they can find an expert
on the subject within 24 hours (you will be charged for their time,
though). They can do vendor searches (again, I have found the
Internet to be better). And they can do something called the
Sentry Intelligence Update. If you want to be updated on a
subject whenever anything new comes out on paper, this service
notifies you to see if you want the report sent to you.

Since the company subscribes to this service, I can't tell you much
about pricing, but Teltech's number is 1-800-367-8358.

Hope this helps,
Steve Murphy
