Mail*Link(r) SMTP FWD>GEN: Dot Spray Marking Jim The "dots" I've seen being applied for color coding individual round wires in multiconductor cables for identification purposes were applied using two methods, one method used a series of rollers similar to a printing press, and the other used a "stamping" method. The roller method applied the "dots" along the length of the wire. The stamping method applied "dots" or with a different series of stamping dies, it could apply "bands" of color around the wire's insulation. If somebody else doesn't have some better info. you might want to contact Belden, Carol or one of the cable/wire companies.
