We must be careful when making assumptions. Each design has to be judged on it's own merit. A design is not necessarily better because you used 2 more layers. I think I know what you are getting at but it is not always true. Are you saying that other design guidlines have been compromised in order to make it a 4 layer board? If all critical circuit considerations have been taken into account , and all accepted design practices have been followed on both the 4 and 6 layer design how could the 6 layer be better?
