Fred, We have done what you are saying - a plated though half-hole on the edge of a board, but only with 0.062 thick boards. Can't tell you what would happen with 0.010 thick boards. Routing is the only sure way of making it work I would think. Haven't tried it any other way. Good Luck! Thomas (Tom) R.
