-- [ From: Jim Zanolli * EMC.Ver #2.10P ] -- Does anyone have any ideas on how to solder thru-hole connectors without the extra step of wave soldering? In many cases a sufficient volume of solder cannot be achieved by applying solder paste to the hole. In another case the connector has long .485" .025 square tails that must have gold plating to allow mating to another connector after soldered to PCB -- and therefore cannot even be wave soldered. Are there any alternatives to laborious hand soldering or solder donuts? Does the term "intrusive reflow" define the soldering of thru-hole leads by paste in the hole and reflow? *************************************************************************** * TechNet mail list is provided as a service by IPC using SmartList v3.05 * *************************************************************************** * To unsubscribe from this list at any time, send a message to: * * [log in to unmask] with <subject: unsubscribe> and no text. * ***************************************************************************
