Technetters, This is a specific question about the impact of the cleaning solutions ProClean (alcohol?) and Axarel (semi-aqueous) on components. In particular, we have a crystal oscillator in a package with a hole through which the frequency of the oscillator can be tweaked (trimming capacitor). We are seeing some failures and I am wondering if any of it is due to any of the above cleaning solutions entering the components. 1. What is the normal force with which cleaning solutions clean boards (does 20 psi sound reasonable)? 2. Has anyone out there seen failures due to this? 3. What is the composition of the semi-aqueous cleaners like Axarel?
