Doug, My advice is not product specific, if that helps. The first thing I suggest is to determine what design types & complexity you need the layout package to do. Next, arrange with a vendor to personally "try out" their software to see how well or poorly it does with your sample design. Be sure to test the various outputs you require, like Gerber 274X (highly recommended) and DXF to AutoCAD, etc. Factoring in price and support, depending on your budget, you should have all you need to make your choice.
