Leo, We have observed this phenomenon on polycarbonate telephone housings, but not on circuit boards. The pink bags will emit antistatic compounds, especially at elevated temperature and humidity. FTIR or SIMS analysis can be used to confirm the presence of the liberated antistat if it is on your boards. Amide, amine and amine/ammonium salt compounds are used as antistats for this application, although the majority of pink bags are formulated with amides due to their relative chemical inertness. However, one should evaluate whether amines are present since insulation resistance could be compromised.
