Hi Victor-

IPC allows thick film resistors to be placed up-side down: the resistive
material has an insulator over it. AND you can buy resistors which have no
wrap on the ends and so must be placed this way. These parts are used in
situations where the little "stubs" of the wraps might degrade signal
quality (extremely high speed/high frequency stuff).
