Probes are pricey and susceptible to breakage. > DMA too academic and esoteric . Hard to convince "non-techies" of what the data truly means. > DSC somewhat of a more universal instrument suitable for both solder as well as polymer analyses. As an FYI that you may already be aware of,... there is an IPC document which has a pretty good appendix briefly describing all 3 instruments, but alas I always forget which one. Hopefully some else will provide that bit of detail.
