Back to the original question about nickel hardness between Ni B and Ni P. Victor, -----Original Message----- From: TechNet [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Stadem, Richard D. Oftentimes a tungsten/nickel/boron finish is electroplated instead of the more common chromium, and when electroplated it is much harder than the electroless plating (it is generally thicker). But this is usually done for mechanical components. http://www.osti.gov/scitech/biblio/72974-QMzJhC/webviewable/ http://asterionstc.com/tungsten-nickel-boron-electroplating-system/ But I have never heard of electroplated TNB being used as a circuit board finish. I don't think you can solder to it, if that is what you are asking. -----Original Message----- From: TechNet [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Vladimir Igoshev Sent: Monday, January 26, 2015 6:53 AM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: [TN] Nickel Question Victor, Ni-B is also electroless Vladimir Sent from my BlackBerry 10 smartphone on the Rogers network.
