Ho jogged an ancient memory... Long, long ago when I was a young trainee at BBC, I was on the original Dr Who programme. I was intrigued to see a model of a building made out of Styrofoam in a corner of the studio. When the time came for the building to be destroyed by the alien's heat ray the special effect guys pumped solvent over it from hand pump sprayers (of the type used for spraying insecticides). It was really convincing - in black and white of course, and obviously before health and safety was invented. I would run a compatibility evaluation of acetone on the PCBA, particularly the solder mask, before using it as a cleaner. Karen Tellefsen - Electrical Testing Alpha / 109 Corporate Blvd./ S. The Brian Ellis book covers this well.)
