Hi All, We have a cable that we crimp a Solistrand ring terminal # 328822 http://www.te.com/catalog/bin/TE.Connect?C=1&M=BYPN&TCPN=328822&RQPN=328 822 We currently are using the AMP hand crimping tool #63955 http://www.te.com/catalog/bin/TE.Connect?C=1&M=BYPN&TCPN=69355&RQPN=6935 5 It's okay for a few terminals, but to do more than just a few it's pretty tough on the hands. I know the proper powered tooling from TE is the way to go, but it's pretty expensive. I've been looking at something from Heilind Electronics called a Universal Power Crimper that looks interesting, http://www.heilind.com/products/powercrimperbrochure.pdf It's less expensive than the dedicated power crimper from TE, and can utilize other hand crimpers from Molex, Berg, Burndy, etc. I'm wondering if any of you have ever used this unit? Does it work as advertised? Are there any other units similar to this out there? Thanks!
