Not because of the deionized water as much as the water itself... Space charge collects on water droplets at emission point and due to movement... Then the chargeable particulate generates current due to a delta V in potentials...Think thunderstorms... We have some misting fans that we use for humidification that we've just recently put in a deionized water source for. Now it seems that there's a static charge being generated at the fans that I've never noticed before. Could it be possible that we're generating a charge at the fans because of the DI water?
