Hi folks - Here is the Friday Element Quiz: The Question: This element has been described as a "workhorse element". It is a low melting, low stiffness metal with moderate strength. In humans, a daily intake of 15 mg of this element is recommended. A deficiency of this element in the human body can cause deformed fingernails and delay the onset of puberty for several years. This element's low melting point results in room temperature recrystalization behavior measured in seconds. Its crystal structure is HCP. The element ranks 4th in annual production behind Fe, Al and Cu despite it not being very abundant in the Earth crust. What element am I? Bonus point question: What is this element's abundance in the Earth crust as measured in ppm? Doug is in Florida this week so we voted to give away is stapler to the quiz winner. Good Luck.
