I go with Blair on this one but that type of fuse has literally disappeared here.  
Not used in autos since 1990 or earlier.  If fact it is very hard to buy a 1" glass 
tube fuse.  You will likely have to buy 100 or 1000 to get them at any 
reasonable price each.

So I think Blair is right on this but I would have never had the right answer.  

And you are correct that auto manufacturers used to find the most fiendish 
places to put the fuse blocks.
