If you ever get the chance to visit the Tallahassee Auto Museum, do so, for two reasons. First, the owner, DeVoe Moore, displays collections of some of the coolest stuff imaginable. On display is a collection of calculators, including the original Bowmar Brain's in all models, and everything since. I looked and sure enough, there was an SR-10, the first one I ever owned. Along with them, is a display of all sorts of early electronics, including several examples of Heathkit devices. As well as the cars, there are also displays of kitchen appliances, early radios, outboard motors and pedal cars, even Madame Alexander dolls. And not just one or two, but extensive collections of all these things and more. The other cool part is that this huge two story building is completely self sufficient. The city of Tallahassee denied him permits to build the place, right off I-10, so he told 'em to stick it and went ahead, setting it up with large solar grids and self contained power sources. He's won numerous federal energy awards, really embarrassing the city. He generates enough power to air condition the place even in August in Florida.
