I have used it quite a bit, but not in bar form nor for wave soldering. We used K100LD solder spheres, but not because of a RoHS requirement, but rather for a stellar imaging device. The K100LD provides better reliability than SAC305 from a BGA/CBGA standpoint, but I do not have any information on how it compares with SAC305 when used for wave soldering. I expect it would be better, as it has a much better modulus of elasticity, and has far fewer problems with copper dewetting. -----Original Message----- From: TechNet [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Ken Bloomquist Sent: Wednesday, November 04, 2009 12:53 PM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: [TN] K100LD Lead Free Solder Is anyone using K100LD bar solder in their wave solder machine? How does it compare to SAC305? Is there any advantage that you know of using one over the other? You can reply off line if you feel there might be a conflict talking about a specific manufacturer's product.
