Technet,

I have one minor issue with a ground pin solder hole fill. This ground pin is flat and has U shape at one end and the U-shape end is inserted into two PCB holes that are connected together. These two pins (U-shape with 0.1" spacing ) are mechanically and electrically connected. Typically, we have ~80% hole-fill on one of U-shape pins and the other U-shape pin has ~20% hole-fill.

Are these hole-pins acceptable as per IPC Class 2 requirement? I couldn't find this specific standard in IPC 610D. If I remember right, an older 610 has this specification. I know IPC 610D section 7.5.5.1 states min 50% hole fill is acceptable for one ground pin hole for Class 2.

thank you
Matthew
