Talk to Shelly Kain (pronounced Kine) or Cornel Christea. They have excellent bulk feeders that we use for re-taping components after tinning. V-Tek built us a fully automatic robotic tinning cell that is just absolutely outstanding, totally flexible (easy to do short runs of just a few parts, any part type from 0201s to very large QFPs) and the bulk feeders can be used on the cell platform. The robot picks parts out of V-tek de-taping feeder, then the 3D inspection system verifies the forming done previously is good to within .001" (coplanarity, heel-to-heel dimension, toe-to-toe, dimension from bottom of part to bottom of foot, etc,) dips the part precisely in the flux, tins to within .001" from the body, cleans the flux in a wash tank, dries the part with an air knife, inspects the tinning with a separate 2D camera inspection system, and re-packages the part in a V-tek re-taping feeder or in a matrix tray. This cell can do a very large number of different tasks, including solder removal of BGAs for re-balling, etc. I just cannot say enough good things about V-tek's equipment, from bulk feeders, taping and re-taping machines, etc. They are an excellent company to work with. No, I do not work there, just one very happy customer. www.vtekusa.com -----Original Message----- From: TechNet [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Steve Gregory Sent: Wednesday, September 30, 2009 8:21 AM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: [TN] Bulk Chip Component Feeders Morning All! Does anybody know who makes bulk chip component feeders? Kemet talks about offering components in bulk cassette packaging: http://tinyurl.com/yeb8v4r as does Murata: http://tinyurl.com/yamt5ys But I can't find anything on bulk feeders. I called Mydata (which we have), and they don't offer one. They said to check with Hover Davis, but it looks like they are just into tape feeders, label feeders, and direct die feeders. Anybody know? Thanks!
