Hi Joe, I'm sorry I can't answer your question but I have an adder to your question. Many years ago I was told that flat braid lacing was impregnated with rat poison because if a rodent got into an aircraft it could cause havoc with the wiring. Eating the lacing which was poisoned and the easiest to eat would kill them. Any truth to that tale? I to would like to know the answer to your original question. Nylon flat braid lacing tape per Mil-T-43435 is used to securing wires, etc. and comes either wax impregnated or not. Everyone has an opinion on when wax impregnated should be used and when the non-wax impregnated lacing flat tape should be used based on experience. As far as I know, the wax impregnated tape is used to secure wires and the wax helps keep the lacing tape in place. I would like to hear further comment from users. thanks Best Regards, -Joe M. --------------------------------------------------- Technet Mail List provided as a service by IPC using LISTSERV 15.0 To unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the BODY (NOT the subject field): SIGNOFF Technet To temporarily halt or (re-start) delivery of Technet send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet NOMAIL or (MAIL) To receive ONE mailing per day of all the posts: send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet Digest Search the archives of previous posts at: http://listserv.ipc.org/archives Please visit IPC web site http://www.ipc.org/contentpage.asp?Pageid=4.3.16 for additional information, or contact Keach Sasamori at [log in to unmask] or 847-615-7100 ext.2815 -----------------------------------------------------
