Victor, saw the photos. Dīd not like the look. Didn't look like being done very professional. Made an investigation of Lion-batteries for a security company one year ago.Their imprints were larger and had a soft and regular coining of the stripe. Your battery stripe seems to have too sharp and deep marks, and they are all different, which may be because a varying process,. I guess on too much pressure and a too short pulse. Just guessing. How will the stripe look like if you pull off it? http://www.powerstream.com/ss/Sunstone2007DPWelderIP.pdf Have a look at the videos. In the end of these, you get a glimpse of how the battery welds should look like. http://sunstoneengineering.com/site/pages/technicalResources Inge ----- Original Message ----- From: <[log in to unmask]> To: <[log in to unmask]> Cc: <[log in to unmask]> Sent: Wednesday, August 26, 2009 3:56 PM Subject: RE: [TN] Metal spot weld, cylindrical battery end terminal The base leave/foil for the battery metal is nickel. -----Original Message----- From: Hernandez, Victor G Sent: Wednesday, August 26, 2009 6:56 AM To: 'TechNet E-Mail Forum'; 'Inge' Subject: RE: [TN] Metal spot weld, cylindrical battery end terminal Inge, I am not sure which method/process is being used on the notebook battery spot weld. IMHO, there must be some type of guideline for acceptability. Optically, one of the metal leaves/foil material reflowed at the interface an left an open arch. Somewhat difficult to explain. I will attempt to post a photo for all to see.
