With the caveat that free advice is often not worth what you paid for it... DOP and ESD have zero to do with each other, DOP MAY have a health concern, but frankly, given the high level of ventilation in most facilities, even if it has some effect, I would not concern myself. DOP will out-gas, if very slowly. This is often what you wipe off the interior of your windshield in your newer car. A quick search tells us that DOP is Dioctyl phthalate, a widely used plasticizer used in everything from plastic buckets to foods. Questions: How great a consideration is it that ESD flooring has or does not have DOP additives? Is it a long term health concern, subject to any outgassing, leaching, etc. Does DOP improve the ESD qualities or longevity of the flooring compared to flooring that does not contain it? Any help would be much appreciated, Thank you, Bruce Tostevin Benchmark Electronics Hudson, New Hampshire --------------------------------------------------- Technet Mail List provided as a service by IPC using LISTSERV 15.0 To unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the BODY (NOT the subject field): SIGNOFF Technet To temporarily halt or (re-start) delivery of Technet send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet NOMAIL or (MAIL) To receive ONE mailing per day of all the posts: send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet Digest Search the archives of previous posts at: http://listserv.ipc.org/archives Please visit IPC web site http://www.ipc.org/contentpage.asp?Pageid=4.3.16 for additional information, or contact Keach Sasamori at [log in to unmask] or 847-615-7100 ext.2815 ----------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------- Technet Mail List provided as a service by IPC using LISTSERV 15.0 To unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the BODY (NOT the subject field): SIGNOFF Technet To temporarily halt or (re-start) delivery of Technet send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet NOMAIL or (MAIL) To receive ONE mailing per day of all the posts: send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet Digest Search the archives of previous posts at: http://listserv.ipc.org/archives Please visit IPC web site http://www.ipc.org/contentpage.asp?Pageid=4.3.16 for additional information, or contact Keach Sasamori at [log in to unmask] or 847-615-7100 ext.2815 -----------------------------------------------------
