Dave,

1. Einsteinium was discovered by a team of scientists led by Albert Ghiorso in
1952. It was confirmed while studying the radioactive debris produced by the
detonation of the first hydrogen bomb that was detonated in the South Pacific
by Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory. Based on what I've been reading the
debris captureed in filter papers was was studied at the UC Radiation
Laboratory using chemical separation in a cation-exchange column.

2. Sir Humphry Davy discovered calcium in 1808.

I know I'm not the first to answer. But hope I have it correct!

Drew
