There aren't a whole lot of pastes that work in it yet, as I understand it. And it is pricey.

That said, I know one major defense OEM that bought one to spot solder some 0.4 or 0.3 mm -- can't remember which -- flip chips used on a corner of a board, and they love it. Accuracy is great, and it eliminated hand soldering.

It isn't a printer. It is a jet dispenser.
The first impediment to implementation in our shop was the paste.
The machine was optimized for their paste. We had just spent a boat load of
money and a ton of time qualifying a new paste. And I didn't want to go down
that road again.

Subject: [TN] Request For Screenprinter Commentary

TechNetters,

I'd like to hear from anyone who has used (or even seen) the MYDATA
MY500 screenprinter. I've read a couple of interesting tidbits of info
on the web, but would appreciate some commentary from those with actual
experience.

You may reply offline if you'd like.

Many thanks, and have a great holiday weekend.
