Let's all keep looking. Several people have forwarded links to other clamping methods, but none seem to be as convenient as this one, with most clamps requiring one hand to hold the board and one hand to engage each clamp. Since I only need 2 clamps, I only need 3 hands! If I find a source for these (or similar) clamps, I'll be sure to let the group know, since I've had several requests for more info on these parts. They look much better than the larger mechanical clamps. -----Original Message----- From: TechNet [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Steve Gregory Sent: Thursday, February 05, 2009 10:09 AM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: [TN] Looking for test fixture quick release snap-in hold-down clamp Hi Carl! Have your picture posted, it's here: http://stevezeva.homestead.com/files/snap-in_board_clamp__Small_.jpg I'll check with our test department and see if they know where to get them. The snap-in latches allowing us to press the boards onto our spring probe fixture with a simple 2-handed motion. The quick release leavers retract the latches, and the spring probes pop the board up for easy removal from the alignment pins. We found a quantity of these latches on some old testers, but are running out of reclaimed stock. In my web searches, I have found nothing like these handy devices, so I am going to my best search engine . . . TechNet! Can "you guys" suggest a source for these latches, or maybe similar latches? (the picture has been sent to Steve Gregory in hopes of inclusion on his technical picture site) Thanks, Carl <<snap-in board clamp (Small).jpg>> Carl Van Wormer, P.E.
