The first link below is a terrific, in depth view of the subject but I'm confused by Table 2.1 that shows the relative conductivity of gold as being greater than copper. I've always understood that gold is not as good a conductor as copper, it just has superior contact resistance properties, which can creates mis-conceptions. A look at Wikipedia's Conductivity page as well as all other metal conductivity/resistivity charts confirms copper's superior conductivity. Is there something about electroformed or wrought versions of copper when compared with gold (???-unknown fab process) that would validate the chart? Or is the chart just messed?
