Hi Bob, Yours is not a simple solution, many questions come to mind. If you are truly on the design side, and building assemblies is not your focus, why invest capital in equipment you will seldom use? You don't mention the actual pitch of the "PITA" component, but consider that of the SMT process, reflow is only 1/3 of the simplest solution. How will you apply paste and place the part(s)? The solder paste screening and placement of fine pitch components can be just as, if not more, challenging than the reflow process. You may be best served to locate and work with a good contract manufacturer who is willing to work with you. Most are more than willing to work with you from concept through prototype and production. This is a win-win scenario, as a good contract mfr can provide valuable DFM inputs and save you from design errors or needless capital investment. That being said, it is difficult to recommend a system for you without knowing your parameters. I can provide a short list of some oven manufacturers who may make budget-conscious systems that you are seeking: - APS / Novastar - Essemtec - Manncorp Be sure to also check out the used market. Good luck. We're on the design side and trying to do these fine pitch parts in R&D is a PITA. Thanks!
