Will like to understand and clarify the following (though it seems like a self answered question but quite surprise about "1 minute" maybe design/in mind for manual measurement) Base on IPC 9701 it indicated that: using a data logger to scan interval durations of less than 1 minute is mandated. -->So am I right that with a data logger scan time less than 1 minute, it is considered a failure with 5 scans more than 20% nominal resistance increase (maximum)? Thanks and Have a Nice Weekend! ________________________________ From: TechNet on behalf of Werner Engelmaier /* Sent: Sat 6/28/2008 4:30 AM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: [TN] IPC 9701- table 4.4- failure definition Hi GA Tan, No, you cannot mix and match like this. If you use a data logger, you need to follow b). What that lab proposes does not work. With your components, I would definitely recommend using an Event Detector. I would not be surprised if that lab has not the proper capability to do either Option a) or Option b)-go elsewhere. Regards, Werner Engelmaier Engelmaier Associates, L.C.
