Howdy tech-netters, A while back we had a customer requesting FR4-06 pcb material and one of our pcb vendors asked to use their manufacturer's equivalent NP-170R instead. We approved it's use.
Recently a customer said our assemblies are failing a smoke density test. One of our group members is suspecting the pcb material.

1) Could pcb material be related?
2) Is NP-170R a valid replacement for FR4-06?

Thanks,
