eeek. We just ventured into metal backed pcb for thermal management and it was new to us as well. On the drawing with the manufacturing notes we simply added a detail named "Stackup Detail". It is essentially a small pcb cross section. It is a dimensioned cross section showing drill dia and depths. Our pcb vendor helped us create the detail. After all, they are the ones who needed it, so it made sense to ask them what they needed and how they wanted it. They essentially approved it for us before we released it. I mean besides specing 1mm thick Aluminum and 2oz Cu, what should find its place in the tech notes?
