Genny , What are you seeing that creeps along the legs: SAC, Ag or Tin? If pure Silver wets as far as to the contact area, I would be scared, because of the migration risk. I can't see how it could be pure Silver, but I want to know. I have seen too many times what humidity, Silver and voltage difference can cause! The gold-plated header normally mates with gold socket connector. What would be the reliability issues with SAC solder in contact with the gold socket?
