Russ Good point. I recall in several of meetings on issues other than soldering, but concerning PCBs that we were told that all of your processing folks always had clean hands so that there would never be a transfer issue resulting from handling at your facility. I remember this being expressed emphatically to Richmond's senior management over a testing issue when they suggested your shop should wear gloves to protect test points. It is good to know that "you all" successfully resolved all of the issues mentioned below without going to gloves. Best regards Lee J. The other is you don't need gloves but it is advisable to only hand the boards from the card edges. There are still some bad elements that can transfer to the board and can cause some soldering difficulties. Most of the issues we found were hand lotions and pop corn oil. So no selling pop corn in the vending machines and no Avon or Mary Kay parties in the cafeteria and you don't need gloves. Our customers stored the boards side by side with HASL boards and experienced no adverse effects. I will also point out that while gloves give added protection, none of our customers found them necessary. Best regards Lee J. We are starting to work with OSP for the first time. What do you recommend for OSP handling? Gloves is a given, but I am wondering about storage.
