Ben, I would guess that a more precise statement might include a phrase like 'vacuum did not accelerate moisture withdrawal, within the limits of measurement'. Outgassing of moisture would, I think, be linear with a decrease in environmental water vapor pressure, while it would increase exponentially with temperature. Some expert in transport phenomena is welcome to correct or clarify the preceding.
