(a) Diameter
(b) Depth
(c) Location to Datum hole or edge
(d) Location to Fiducial Pad or Mark
(d) All of above
Any combination of (a), (c) and (d)
should be possible with 2-D or 3-D CMM with appropriate camera + magnification
factor.
Measuring (b) accurately may depend
on the hole size (diameter) as well as the land and depth of the internal
cavity. Very small holes may not be accurately measured by some 3-D
CMM since the land may be too small for repeatable detection. In such case,
a confocal Laser/Optical scope based 3-D system such as Nikon NEXIV or
TEO, or Olympus LEXT may be more capable.
Don't forget, scale, accuracy and
repeatability are importiant!
If you lack such instruments, a local
university or meterology lab may help.
