A NAS549 plastic washer can be used to insulate the fastener from adjacent pads. You may need one on both sides depending on the configuration. -----Original Message----- From: TechNet [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Marsico, James Sent: Tuesday, June 26, 2007 7:06 AM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: [TN] 25 Pin Micro-D Connector Scott, this sounds like a good approach. If this is the one I'm thinking of, the top side of the mounting bushings is open to do this type of thing. Good luck. Scott Decker AKA: PadMasterson Hypercom CAD <--- Not any more! We're specifying the use of a 25 pin Micro-D connector (MIL-DTL-83513/10C), PCB mount. The connector body has #2-56 inserts, so the mounting hardware (#2 screws) are installed from the solder-side of the PWB into the connector. The way this connector is designed, the mounting holes are located .083" from the 2 outer-most PTHs in the center row. The mounting screw and associated washer will overlap these 2 PTHs on the solder side. Has anyone used these connectors in the past and what did you do to prevent the hardware from contacting the PTHs? We're thinking a spacer to raise the washer/screw up off the board.
