In my experience, you need to go to the manufacturers website and investigate what their RoHS policy is. There are several component manufacturers that use the phrase "leadfree" and when you look at their website they clearly state that when they say 'leadfree' they mean 'RoHS compliant', because lead was the only substance they were using. For instance, this clip from Fairchild's website FAQ: Question Are all your Lead Free products (_NL) RoHs compliant and vice versa? Answer Yes, FSC products are Lead-Free and RoHS vice versa. -----Original Message----- From: TechNet [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of David Harman Sent: March 22, 2007 6:04 PM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: [TN] ROHS lead free question We are having a discussion about off -shelve- components being lead free. Data sheets are not specifying ROHS, however; they specify lead-free. Can these parts be used in a ROHS environment, and be certified as ROHS.?
