The thickness issue depends largely on how you apply the  coating.  A curtain 
or leaf type coating spray can easily apply enough  coating to reach the 
maximum thickness limit.  Atomized spraying is more  difficult because the AR must 
be thinned so drastically.
For removal, alcohol will work but it is very slow.  Acetone, toluene,  butyl 
acetate are all far faster and very effective.
