Designing and Building a Board with Embedded Passive Components:
An Interactive Workshop
Hosted by NAVSEA CRANE
April 24-25, 2007 - Crane, IN

Learn and experience how to design and fabricate embedded passives. In this hands-on workshop, participants will use a CAD workstation to design a PCB with embedded passives and then build it. Topics to be covered include:
an introduction to Embedded Passives, how to utilize both capacitor and resistor materials, how to manufacture a finished board, including raw material samples (inner-layer details will be given to the students), along with case studies presented by industry specialists and how to solve your embedded passive problems.

Information on current commercially available materials for resistors and capacitors will be provided, including Design for Manufacture (DfM) and related processes for incorporation into the PCB with emphasis on (DFM) and test and trim of resistors.  The overview concludes with a systematic rationale on how to proceed with component and material selection.
