Hi to all, I am using a QFN 5 mm square that has 28 leads with a spacing of 0.5 mm the JEDEC standard MO220K specifies that the lead width should be between 0.18 and 0.3 mm, however there is a smear or burr on the edge caused by the cutting and separation of the QFN diminishing the distance between the leads on the edge to 0.1 mm. The supplier insists that he can make the leads 0.3 mm and add to that a tolerance that allows 50% spread between the leads so 0.1mm is ok for him Question have anyone seen such a phenomena ? Is the supplier correct of his interpretation of the standard .Can this cause shorts ? Eli Dallal Technologist Aladdin. Securing the Global Village.
