For a thermal shock test, I would recommend using Mil-STD-202, Method 107 as a starting point. It has some information on soak times at the extremes, and the number of cycles to perform. There is another MIL document that encompassed temperature cycling, including operation at the high and low extremes, but the number escapes me right now. The question comes up as to the temp range and time. They are suggesting: Room temp to +150F to -40F to room temp. I'm concerned because of the populated parts (one is a lithium battery). Not to mention I have no idea on the time periods from extreme to room temp. Following this test, an electrical test would be performed. Any suggestions / Comments??
